Tech Pack notes / Warnings
Cisco IPSLA
IV53861: SCHED_OVERFLOW FOR METRIC #78000(RESET).APAR status Closed as fixed if next. Error description Product:- Cisco IPSLA 2.2.0.0 Severity:- 2
Problem:- After installing Cisco IPSLA 2.2.0.0 it was noticed that collector reports SCHED_OVERFLOW for Metric #78000(Reset).
Local fix Its suggested to downgrade the TechPack version to Cisco IPSLA 2.1.1.0 from 2.2.0.0.
Problem summary The tech pack needs to be redesigned to handle the metric reset. Please refer to APAR IV56198 for the tech pack changes.
also IV36873 - 2014-03-06
For HTTP group of reports the formulas for RTT are not properly working.
Formula:
rttMonHTTPStatsRTTSum.%I1.%LastIpSlaUpdate * (DISTRIB (rttMonLatestRttOperSense.%I1, "==1:1") && DISTRIB (rttMonLatestRttOperTime .%I1 == last(rttMonLatestRttOperTime.%I1), "==0:1"));
In the reports in reality customer have just rttMonHTTPStatsRTTSum value. The Formula period data collection is 5 min. the values are the same as from the application server Performance for rttMonHTTPStatsRTTSumOID. In plus Distrib operators get the value of "1". So it seems like we have the rttMonHTTPStatsRTTSum statistics in place of RTT time. The same situation is for DNS RTT, Transaction and TCP connect.
suggested to downgrade the TechPack version to Cisco IPSLA
2.1.1.0 since the later version upgrade version changes are
design related, will be addressed in APAR IV56198, which request
the design change for handling the metric reset.
Self Monitoring IV54493
Installing the Self-Monitoring Technology Pack is not enough even though the Host reports are added in the report tree. Nothing about this is mentioned in the user guide.Need to update the Self-Monitoring pack user guide with a note that we need to install SSM techpack along with Self-Monitoring pack. Othrwise the reports will not generate under the group Host.
